"I knew it would begin with the end, and the end would look like death to these eyes. I had been warned. Not these eyes. My eyes. Mine. This was me now," the soul convinces herself. Everyone calls Wanderer and now inhabits the body that was Melanie Stryder. 'Wanderer' now lives on Earth for the rest of her life in this body as a human. The transition into another body or host comes naturally to her since Earth is now her ninth planet. Usually when a soul enters a new host normally he/she experiences memories from the body it currently dwells in and the host fades in time. Unlike other hosts Melanie knows about Souls and what happens to humans when souls specialized in finding and hunting known as Seekers find humans. Melanie remains present in Wanderer's head and finds herself feeling for people she only knows through Melanie's memories. "The Host," a story of mystery, acceptance, adventure, and a hint of romance.
